What exactly is Formula 1 and where are f1 betting sites?

Since its first season in 1950, the World Drivers’ Championship, which later changed its name to the FIA Formula One World Championship, has been one of the most prestigious racing series in the world. The name’s use of the word “formula” refers to the set of requirements that all participants’ automobiles must meet. Grands Prix, a collection of events that make up a Formula One series or season, are held all over the world on both closed public streets and purpose-built racing tracks.

Quick F1 sports:

Formula 1 is a sport worth betting on and there are many sites to do so. It has rules and regulations just like any other sport, but before we dive in deep, let’s look at some quick facts:

  • Ten teams participate in the F1 tournament, and each team has two drivers.
  • Formula 1 cars are amongst some of the safest cars in the entire world.
  • A pit stop to change tires takes less than 3 seconds
  • The highest speed ever recorded in F1 was 372.5 kmh which is 231.5
  • F1 car engines only last as long as 5 races maximum

How many people are using the best betting sites for the F1?

Maybe because there are formula 1 races on multiple continents involving many different nations, but it is a sport in the top 10 list of sport betting popularity. This means that out of all of the sports in the world, and all the sports that people can and do bet on, that F1 betting is amongst the top 10 worldwide.

What country is the most popular for F1 races?

To give you some insight into sport popularity, the F1 races are actually much more popular than the NFL (national football league) in the United States.

When it comes to physically watching the races, the United States Grand Prix is currently the most popular race. On average this particular race brings up to 400,000 viewers who get involved with the audience.

How are points scored in the F1 races?

In order to make accurate predictions while betting on the F1, you should probably be aware of some of the rules of the races. Not only are there particular rules the drivers need to adhere to, but they will also be awarded points through the F1 scoring system. Even though it is very possible for two drivers to get the same points in just one Grand Prix race, it is extremely rare for two drivers to get the same number of points across an entire Formula 1 season.

Position when crossing the finish line Points awarded
1st Place 25
2nd Place 18
3rd Place 15
4th Place 12
5th Place 10
6th Place 8
7th Place 6
8th Place 4
9th Place 2
10th Place 1
11th Place 0

As with any sport, there are times when points will be awarded, as well as times when they will not be. Take a look below at the main rules:

Unless at least two laps have been completed under green flag conditions, no points will be given out. What are green flag conditions? They are regular “ideal” laps that do not have any penalties handed out to the drivers.

Then depending on how much of the race has been completed at the time of points being given, the value of those points changes.

  • If less than a quarter of the race is finished, the top five finishers will receive points in the order of 6 – 4 – 3 – 2 – 1.
  • If between a quarter and a half of the race is finished, the top nine finishers of the race will receive points on a system of 13 – 10 – 8 – 6 – 5 – 4 – 3 – 2 – 1.
  • If half to three quarters of the race is finished, the top 10 finishers will receive points on a basis of 19 – 14 – 12 – 9 – 8 – 6 – 5 – 3 – 2 – 1.

Points are generally awarded per race as well as collected over the entire season. The driver (his team) with the highest number of points at the end of the racing series is named the winner of the overall competition. This is a truly prestigious award and one of the highest aspirations for many drivers that aim for this in their career.
