BetSelect Matthew Judon Exclusive: ‘I’ve Still Got Something Left’

Four-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Matthew Judon traveled to Arizona this weekend to participate in a celebrity basketball game held by ex-Patriots teammate Mack Wilson.
After showing off his moves on the court, the 33-year-old told BetSelect.co.uk that his time on the football field could be over.
The ex-Ravens and Patriots star didn’t have a sack in 13 games between the Dolphins and Bills last season, and remains a free agent.
“I’m still working out, so whatever happens, happens,” Judon said. “Eventually it’s not up to you.”
Judon, who made the Pro Bowl every year from 2019-2022 for Baltimore and New England, was asked how he’d feel if this was the end of his NFL journey.
“It’s been 10 years, so I’d be content,” Judon said. “But I feel like I’ve still got something left.”
Judon was a free agent at this time last season, eventually agreeing to a 1-year, $3 million contract with the Dolphins in August.
He ended up with 19 tackles and three quarterback hits for Miami before being released on December 18th.
Judon signed to the Bills’ practice squad two days later and played in the regular season finale against the Jets, but was not elevated to the active roster for their two playoff games.
Judon said he still believes he can make an impact in the NFL.
“I still feel like there’s not too many people better than me,” Judon said. “But it’s not up to me.”
Judon stopped short of saying he would play for any NFL team that showed interest, but at this stage of his career, is realistic about the number of potential suitors.
“Not anywhere, but it’s the NFL, so you really don’t have a lot of choices,” Judon said. “There are only 32 teams. You don’t want to be arrogant about that, but you do pick and choose.”
Judon participated in the charitable basketball game alongside several current or former Patriots, including cornerback Christian Gonzalez and 49ers defensive end Keion White.
Judon said he remains close to Wilson, a linebacker for the Cardinals, after playing together in New England in 2022 and 2023.
“We’re like brothers,” Judon said. “You’ll hear that a lot in the league. It’s like a family. Me and Mack were in the same (position) room. We jelled over long road trips and driving to and from the games. A lot of these guys are friends.”
