Bookies’ Favourites: Celtic’s Next Manager Odds

It’s never easy being a football fan, although for Celtic FC fans in Scotland, recent seasons have been easier than most. Last season, The Celts finished 1st in the SPL, won the League Cup, and were runners up in the Scottish Cup tournament.
Perhaps more encouraging, was the fact that they more than held their own against Bayern Munich in the Champion’s League knockout phase play-offs, narrowly missing out due to a 3-2 loss on aggregate. It was this “success” in Europe that spurred fans on the most. If Celtic could have a team like Bayern Munich on the ropes, surely this solidified the fact that European glory could soon be on the cards?
Under the leadership of Brendan Rogers, Celtic seemed virtually unstoppable, and at the conclusion of the 24/25 season, fans were excited to see what was next. As is often the way in football, things weren’t quite that simple, and the club now finds itself on the hunt for a new manager.
But who is the bookies’ favourite to become the next Celtic manager, and what sort of odds are out there?
Trouble in Paradise
Despite manager Brendan Rogers steering Celtic FC to one of their most successful seasons in recent memory, news soon began trickling out in the summer of unrest behind the scenes.
Rogers publicly stated his frustration with the club over its transfer policies. Brendan, clearly encouraged by what he’d seen months prior, wanted to bring in new players and strengthen his squad. The board and powers that be, however, weren’t exactly happy with his requests and the two clashed verbally.
This unrest in the changing rooms spilled over into the team and was reflected on the pitch when the 2025/26 season kicked off. The Hoops dramatically crashed out of European Champion’s League qualifying, losing to Kazakhstan’s Kairat, whom Celtic were predicted to easily dispatch. Following this, a series of disappointing results, and a public war of words with Celtic major shareholder Dermot Desmond, Rogers left the club, with Martin O’Neill coming in as interim manager.
Celtic’s Next Manager Odds
With former manager and fan favourite Martin O’Neill currently serving as interim manager, along with assistant Shaun Maloney, Celtic currently find themselves searching for a new permanent manager.
For those of you who enjoy a cheeky bet or two, here’s a look at a few bookies’ favourites to become next manager of Celtic FC, and what sort of odds you can expect as of November 7th 2025.
Kjetil Knutsen
As of this writing, Norwegian coach Kjetil Knutsen has overtaken O’Neill to become the new bookmaker’s favourite for the Celtic manager job.
Ladbrokes give him odds of 2/1, whereas Bet365 currently list him as 6/4 odds-on favourite to take over.
The 57-year-old currently manages FK Bodø/Glimt, whom he has enjoyed great success with. After winning 4 league titles, he made history as the club became the first Norwegian team to reach the semi-finals of a European contest as he led them to the Europa League semi-finals.
Knutsen recently stated he’d be the perfect candidate for Celtic, and with his track record in Europe, he looks very appealing.
Martin O’Neill
Martin O’Neill, who is currently interim manager at the club, was previously the odds-on favourite for the role.
Bet365 list him with odds of 5/1 whereas Ladbrokes have him as 4/1. He previously served as Celtic manager between 2000 – 2005, where he enjoyed the highest win rate of any manager in the club’s history (75.5%).
He returned to the club in October 2025, steering the club to a 4-0 victory over Falkirk. Fans are definitely on his side as the club are currently 2nd in the table, 9 points adrift of leaders Hearts, with a game in hand.
Kieran McKenna
Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna is another name in contention for the Celtic job, with odds of 7/1 with Bet365 and 5/1 with Ladbrokes.
The 39-year-old is the youngest name on our list today by quite a margin, but is full of ambition. Ipswich should be concerned, as the Northern Irish manager is said to be ‘very interested’ in the Hoops position.
Ange Postecoglou
Finally, we have ‘Big Ange’ Postecoglou, who became yet another victim to Nottingham Forest’s ruthless approach to managers, as he was sacked early into the 25/26 season.
Bet365 have Ange at 9/1 for the role, while Ladbrokes have him at 7/1.
Ange has previous with The Celts, having managed them between 2021 and 2023. His first stint was virtually perfect, as he picked up a treble, and won five of six possible domestic trophies. His spell at Spurs was unfortunately not as successful, and we all know what happened at Forest
