Time flies when you’re having fun. Manchester City

They were the best team in Europe last season and many fancied them to be the best team in Europe this season. Manchester City is oozing with quality and the powerful combination of Haaland, KVB, and X is enough to make most defences shudder. Throw in one of the world’s finest coaches Pep Guardiola and you would be brave to bet against such a team.

Having said all that, Manchester City are in a pickle at the moment. Losses to Bournemouth, Brighton, and Spurs have not only resulted in dropped points but have forced people to question whether this is a team that can recapture the riches of the 2023/24 season.

Some will argue that form is temporary and class is permanent. Either way, there’s not much to separate the two front-runners in the betting markets.

Arsenal

North London might be more red in recent years but Arsenal has continued to fall short when it comes to the business end of the season. The same issues have plagued the Gunners in recent years: lack of squad depth, and a persistent habit to fall away in the later stages of the season.
