With the 2026/2027 EPL (English Premier League) football season now in full swing, footy fans are starting to get glimpses of what could potentially unfold over the next 9 months or so.

The only slight surprise is that it’s currently Hull City who occupy 3^rd place, though. Will things look the same come May? Probably not, but that’s a long way off yet.

Erling Haaland

Surprise, surprise, but it is currently Manchester City’s Erling Haaland whom most of the bookies have as favourite to be top goalscorer at the conclusion of this season of football.

Since signing for City, he has broken record after record, and racked up more goals than some of the best strikers in the league can only dream of achieving. Last season alone, he was top goalscorer in the league with 27 goals. What’s even more remarkable, and worrying for opposing goalkeepers, is the fact that that was considered somewhat subdued for him.

His luscious golden locks of hair may have gone, but his composure in front of the net certainly hasn’t, as he’s already scored 3 goals from 3 games.

Alexander Isak

Alexander Isak is another player whom the bookies expect to perform this season, especially as he now appears to be finding his feet at Liverpool.

Last season, the Swede netted just 3 goals from 14 matches for Liverpool, though the previous season for Newcastle, that number was much higher. This is reflected in his odds.

Ladbrokes will give you 13/2 odds if you back Isak at this point in the Prem, whilst Betfred are offering 5/1 odds.

De Jesus Joao Pedro

Chelsea’s attacking midfielder De Jesus Joao Pedro is another player to keep a close eye on this season, particularly as he’s got off to such a promising start with 2 goals from 3 games, along with 2 assists.

Last season, in the EPL alone, he racked up a respectable 15 goals from 35 appearances. That number of goals this season will likely not be enough to secure top goalscorer, though the bookies obviously believe he is capable of more.

Igor Thiago

Brentford may not be on the same level as the likes of Liverpool, Man City, and Chelsea, but they still possess a lot of firepower in front of net, in the form of Brazilian Igor Thiago.

Last season, Thiago found the net 22 times out of 38 appearances. He may not have found his form so far, but the bookies still have faith. Ladbrokes have the Brazilian at 20/1, whilst Betfred will give you 16/1 odds.

Cole Palmer

Finally, at 20/1 with Betfred, and 25/1 with Ladbrokes, we have the super composed Cole Palmer.

Missing out on a spot in the England squad at the World Cup obviously igniting something inside of the Chelsea youngster, as he’s on 2 goals from 3 games, along with an assist. At this rate, he’s well on track to better the 10 goals he scored last season.
